OutDoor Show 2015

Posted on 13 Juli 2015

July is OutDoor Show time in Friedrichshafen.
After my time out last year it is time to visit the show to see whats new on the market and to have some small talk with people of the business. It is also a chance to meet good friends and enjoy some beer with them at the parties. But my focus is to inform my readers about all the important gear news. And I will do like in the last years. You get some daily impressions and after the show a detailed report with all specs of the gear. My mean focus is on ultralight gear and this time also gear and clothing for kids. Do not expect to much about climbing gear. I am not that talented climber. So at first I wanna introduce some equipment which you can expect at the OutDoor Show.

Adidas comes along with the Terrex Agravic with a weight of 315g. The design is driven by pure functionality and the shoes offers a great stability and protection for trail running. The revolutionary Boost™ cushioning technology provides more energy return than any other cushioning material in the industry and the Continental® outsole offers a lot of grip.

Arcteryx introduces with Acrux AR GTX a complete new alpine boot. It is one of the lightest, most durable, best fitting, weatherproof alpine boots on the market. The Acrux AR GTX Alpine Boot is an insulated double boot featuring an outer shell and liner constructed with Gore-Tex® .

Bergans presents with the Eidfjord Jacket a milestone in the development of resource-saving plastics and a first step towards fully plant-based polyester.Versatile, waterproof and breathable – but its material is even more: the outer fabric of the 3-layer jacket is made of 30% plant-based polyester, without sacrificing performance or recyclability!

MSR wanna release the ThruHiker Mesh Houses 2/3. These tarps are made of Durashield™ coated 20D nylon ripstop to protect you from rain. For the inner net tent they use a 15D nylon ripstop PU-coated floor and a 10D nylon micro mesh canopy. the weights are 470g or 580g.

The new Salewa Lite Train is designed for mountain training. Developed with Michelin, the shoe strikes an ideal balance between high performance, total grip, durability and outstanding lightness.

Tentipi presents with the Olivin 2 the smallest tent in their range. This tent is based on the same concept as Tentipi’s other Nordic tipis — a robust central pole, a removable inner-tent with a floor and the In-Tent Vent™ system for regulating ventilation.

Valandre Modjo keeps you warm in cold conditions. The jacket is designed with a full compartmented construction system (45 in total). Fills with +/- 150g of our famous fat grey goose French down without any cold point. Its efficiency is formidable in cold condition. New is that Valandre Modjo integrates an entire piece of Primaloft® on the shoulders and in the hood that improve its moisture resistance.

Vaude introduces with the Alpstein 450 DWN a revolutionary quilt concept. OK it is not new because lots of cottages produces quilts, but it is great to see that big company picks up the idea of this light and comfortable quilts.

These are a few things we can expect in Friedrichshafen. For more infos please check hrXXLight on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. And Last but not least check my daily impressions here on my blog. Stay tuned.
